NYOR (National Year of Reading) Celebrations 2012 COUNTRY NSW ACTIVITY:

Michael Salmon to help launch NYOR in Yass, NSW: 14th Feb 2012 (10.30am) Banjo Paterson Park, Yass

The National Year of Reading will be launched nationally on Tuesday 14th February and Yass Valley Library is celebrating by inviting local schools to participate in a combined schools event.
Writer and illustrator, Michael Salmon, has been invited to help launch the National Year of Reading in Yass.
After the official launch schools are invited to join Michael for one of his hilarious cartooning sessions.
All Yass Valley residents are invited to attend the launch.

  • Sculpted and cast in bronze by Anne Ross (Melbourne)
  • Weighs 500kg, 2.2m in length, cost of Statue: $175,000.00
  • Original idea was from the Gungahlin Community Council ACT in September 2009

Richmond and its neighbouring towns (Hughenden and Winton) are a part of the 'Dinosaur trail' … where Australian dinosaur/reptile fossils have been found over the last 100 years. They have many visitors to the towns, from both here and overseas … to view the incredible Dinosaurs/Marine reptiles.
